"So it goes"

"People call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute." - Daria Morgendorfer

I don't know what started making me so frustrated towards this blog, but it did. I guess I just don't feel like the same person as when I started, and I didn't know how to develope this any further.
I have started a new blog that I share with people I actually know.. kind of opposite, huh?
It is writing based, and I feel a better fit for me.
I am not sure if I will release it to the internet at large.

If you are interested in getting the link if I decide to open it up, please leave your email in the comments in form of
fake name (at) fake email (dot) come so you don't get spammed

Whether you do or not, thank you to everyone who has read this blog. It was a huge part of my life at one point and I do apologise for not feeling that way anymore. So many of you have touched me in ways you'll never know. Because of this, I have left some of my (and your) favourite posts. I hope they can touch you in a similar way.

Thank you. It's been quite the ride.

oh no! I've loved your blog. you're so inspiring and have showed me some fantastic articles, websites, people, music and movies. but in the end blogging is for you and not everyone else and if it is no longer what you want and feels more like a burden, then I salute you stepping away.

This blog has been a continued inspiration for the past year. I think that you are such a wonderful person and it has inspired me to become a better person as well as realize the little things in life. Even if you don't open the new blog some of your posts will always be in my bookmarks.

This has gotten me through some extremely tough days and I seriously appreciate it!

Thank you so much!

I have loved your blog for a very long time. It's the blog that I would read to ground myself when I get carried away with.. well life. but if it is not who you are, & not what you feel is right, then I think you are making the right decision. & there's a bit more inspiration for all of us.

if you do continue ...

Oh no! The only fashion AND social justice blog I know of! Le sigh. Though I appreciate you doing what is best for you, and if you ever open your new blog up to the public, I'd greatly appreciate being told about it (though I've never commented before, really). lctaylor at owu dot edu

I'm so sad to see that this blog has come to an end, but, thank you so much for all you have done! You really brought a great point of view amongst all the fashion blogs out there. I really am glad that you have shared with us not only your outfits but also compassion for social issues.
I'd love to keep up with what you post

Mary! I've always loved perusing your blog, even if I would forget to do so on a regular basis. You always had the most fascinating things to show us, and they always made me feel.. better? More optimistic? A little more peaceful? Besides, you has so many great points to share, especially about social justice, and your outfits were always amazing!
I'm glad you're doing what you think is best, though, even if you are shutting down this amazing blog :) If you ever decide to open up your new blog to public, I'd love to be able to read it again - thecoolestredhead (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thanks for sharing so much of your awesomeness with us, Mary. I hope you're doing well!

I'll never forget the day that you wrote a post because I suggested you write one about shopping for prom shoes for small feet! It was incredibly exciting for me. :) And now that my roommate is switching schools and moving to halifax, I can tell her all the cool places to go, thanks to you! So I hope you open up your new blog to the public, because I'd love to read it.

Definitely a loss in the blog world.

You'll be missed.

Also, I didn't really know if you were referring to Kurt Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five with your title, but if so, I love you even more.

You completely changed my life, Mary, no hyperbole intended! I'm still the little monster I was before, but it's not so bad. I'm a feminist monster now. I know about Darfur, I know about the awesomeness of headscarves and little blue trenches, and all about amazing graffiti. I've said it before, and I will say it again: I'm keeping my eye out, cos Mary will be president some day.

Love,
Lee

Thanks for sharing who you are with us. You've always seemed like an amazing person that I wished I could have been real-life friends with instead of this strange, one-sided blog friendship. Yours was so much more well-rounded then a lot of other blogs, too! You reminded me that you can be global minded and still love girliness. You can be a great, kind person, a sartorial person - that you can have it all! I'm sure that you'll continue to inspire people long after this blog is just a memory.

I'd love a link to your new site, if you get the chance.

Hi,

If you do decide to share your other blog, I would love to be able to read it. Like the others who commented before me, I want to thank you for giving me more perspective! I remember reading the Darfur posts and in my History class, the teacher started talking about genocide in Darfur. No one else knew a lot of facts, but I did thanks to your posts. So again, thank you! My email is: aserio2@gmail.com
